Program Buyer, Special Products – Facilities Goods, Company Marketplace
Company is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of SeniorProgram Buyer, Special Products in our Company Technologies organization to develop and manage facilities goods supplier relationships for our Company Marketplace business. Suppliers consist of large B2B products distributors and manufacturers that service the facilities management space. Categories of spend include, but are not limited to MRO, construction, janitorial & sanitization and office supplies. Primary areas of focus will be program development and enablement and establishing strategic growth plans within your book of business. Developing supplier strategies, leveraging Company scale, building new supplier relationships, identifying and bringing forward market innovations, supporting client solutioning and providing overall value to stakeholders in support of the business will be this position’s mission. Contracting and directly managing suppliers in a category management function will also be required based on business needs.
This position entails working with various users and influencers across multiples levels of the organization, and the successful candidate will require the independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload. Position is virtual/home office but Austin, Atlanta, or Charlotte area are highly preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and manage process for special one-off purchases of non-catalog items
Use market and industry intelligence to identify and qualify new suppliers and use data to support the business and delivery of services. In addition, identify risk, threats and provide solutions for mitigation.
Manage all aspects of communication regarding requests including contact with suppliers, Company internal teams and stakeholders, and with clients at all levels
Manage remittance process, including settlement with suppliers and billing / collection from client. Maintains accurate records to initiate client billing process within financial system.
Contribute to delivery of financial targets in line with business expectations. Position continuously drives assigned category strategies and self-sufficiently identifies and executes these projects.
Accountable for creating strategic solutions for specific commodities, RFP/quotation management, bid analysis and recommendations
Liaison with internal stakeholders for contract/PO approvals, savings reporting, documentation and compliance
Develops clear strategic program framework and maintains this framework at senior supplier level
Prepare high quality papers and presentations for use with internal and external stakeholders and/or teams as required
Ability to negotiate and have proven strategies within areas of responsible spend
Partner with functional leads and the business to drive both immediate and sustained benefits to business and its clients
Bring strategic thought leadership to identify additional cost and operational efficiencies
Subject matter expert for Supplier Management and main point of contact within business
Assist teams with driving purchasing process improvements; including SKU rationalization and standardization
Provide pricing support to new business pursuits and other Company teams such as group buys and consulting engagements
Manage product cross referencing and spend analytics tasks with vendors
Comply with all Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practices
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in business or engineering - supply chain, purchasing, industrial sales or operations background strongly preferred.
Must have a minimum of 5 years of category buying experience, or combination of relevant work experience and education
Knowledge of emerging procurement technologies and marketplaces is a plus
Vendor management experience preferred
Background within technical MRO categories (Lighting, HVAC, Plumbing, etc.) preferred
Proven capability to execute on multiple projects simultaneously
Experience maintaining and executing on compliance programs
Strong contracting, negotiation, and account management skills is a must
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to successfully communicate with clients’ and suppliers’ representatives, internal business customers and team members
Strong organizational and time management skills
Able to adapt and prioritize meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility with work hours and travel as needed (estimated 25% travel)
Operates with a sense of urgency, quickly responding to stakeholders
Professional yet personable demeanor
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Able to maintain confidentiality, utilize judgment, and work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated proficiency with all applicable software packages including but not limited to MS Windows; MS Office, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
