The Process Operator, Trainee will primarily be responsible for overseeing a process that uses technology to either extrude or encapsulate a liquid compound or color an alcoholic solution. They will also be responsible for working closely with other internal support functions throughout the plant.

Successfully color alcohol solutions to a scientific and visual standard. This will require operator to be able to successfully differentiate hues of color and make decisions about color addition that differ from the formula.
Working with Quality Control team, take their guidance about visual adjustment of color and make a decision about quantity of dye addition.
Work closely with customers and/or internal support functions on site to color new product launches to a visual standard, providing guidance about proper batch scale up. •Conduct in process testing involving pH, flow, viscosity, and temperature in order to make timely decisions about when to properly add raw materials to chemical reaction to meet correct quality specifications.
Monitor electronic and manual instrumentation, and if process deviation is noted, make decision to perform operator level maintenance on system. If higher level of maintenance is required, make decision to consult internal support function.
Facilitate quality of production by actively monitoring mechanical and electronic instrumentation during process runs. Make decisions about follow on actions based off of interpretation of these readings. .
Maintain safe working environment, utilize appropriate safety equipment and proactively improve the safety culture of the department.
Responsible for the safe operation of fork lift to retrieve materials from the warehouse when necessary.
Compound as required by production demand and work flow.
Maintain processing area and equipment in clean, sanitary and presentable condition; adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and exemplary housekeeping standards.
Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
Ability to wear respirator
Ability to operate forklift.
Ability to handle 200 kg drums and lift 50 lbs bags.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot non-routine issues that may arise.
Ability and willingness to work as part of a team to solve problems, develop procedures, and recommend improvements.
2 years plus prior chemical manufacturing experience (or equivalent education)
2+ to 5 Years of experience in a similar role
