**A Day in the Life**
Provide leadership to the logistics, Import, export compliance at MECC, Brooklyn Center. This includes managing the day to day logistic of receiving, stores and shipping as well as the development of a strategy for the future state of logistics at the site.
The position requires broad dangerous good and trade compliance knowledge related to the receiving, storing and shipping for medical device components and lithium batteries. The role will partner with incoming inspection, sourcing, supply chain, engineering and other customers across Medtronic to ensure that we deliver on compliance. The key responsibilities associated with this are:
Performers a variety of import/export duties that include processing papers necessary to facilitate shipments between international locations.
Administers the efficient and economical movement of goods in accordance with organizational policies.
Prepares reviews, approves and maintains files for import/export documents required for the lawful completion of import/export activities
Serves as an import/export liaison for international customers/subsidiaries, distribution, procurement, planning, manufacturing, intercompany finance, regulatory and import/export compliance functions.
Plans, schedules and routes imports and exports, including monitoring the flow of traffic to/from foreign destinations, ensuring related customer service, brokerage and customs transaction compliance.
Provide overall leadership and direction to the logistics team while ensuring compliance are met.
Develop a comprehensive strategy for the storage and shipping of components that is aligned with the import/export compliance
Drive continuous improvement and monitor the achievement of identified process performance metrics
Ensure that the logistics function remains compliant with current practices related to handling and storing of medical device and lithium batteries components.
Documents processes, procedures, and training materials in alignment with common GSC and Distribution standards
Responsible for planning, initiating, monitoring, and tracking logistics projects to improve quality cost, and delivery of materials.

**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors degree required
+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, or distribution
**Nice to Have**
BS/BA in Business, Engineering, Logistic or similar degree from accredited university/college with MBA preferred
Exceptional collaboration and team building skills across a global organization to develop long term strategic relationships and alliances with key internal and external stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated successful facilitation and influence management ability to achieve change and leadership buy-in at multiple levels.
Proven ability to interact and effectively communicate with Executive management and all levels of the organization related to operational changes and strategic initiatives
Experience developing project estimates for complex logistic or distribution projects.
Experience managing medical device components. Knowledge of cGMP practices.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, quantitative analysis, and problem solving skills
