Principal Financial Analyst

This position reports
to the Operations Sr. Finance Manager Contract Manufacturing Sourcing and
is responsible for developing processes and reporting for monthly results,
forecasting and AOP (Financial Planning and Analysis) across the
Sourcing/Contract Manufacturing functions supporting 8 different businesses
within RTG. This position will also
provide financial business partnering support to the Supplier Excellence, Sustaining
Engineering, and Product Development Operations teams, support Operations
strategic initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
**RTG (Restorative Therapies Group) OVERVIEW**
Therapies Group develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that
span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and
economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures
and deliver successful patient outcomes.
**A DAY IN THE LIFE**
Financial Planning and
+ Act as a liason between CM sites to develop standard processes,reporting, planning, and analysis for financial results and forecasting.
+ Drive development of reporting and analysis to support Ops, BU, Group,and Corporate requirements.
+ Assist to develop processes deliverables to support forecastannual operating plan (AOP) requirements.
+ Provide financialreview, guidance with respect to actual results, AOP and forecasts and costcontrol to cost center managers.
+ Partner with RTG Ops FPA, RTG FPA, and Controllership tofacilitate and provide direction/guidance on harmonizing policies andprocedures to drive efficiencies.
+ Facilitate month end close activity, setting up Journal Entries,validating cost center and project spend reporting while understanding driversof variances.
+ Validate load data into Medtronic financial systems as part ofmonth end, forecasting, AOP.
+ Validate and report on financial data (headwinds/tailwinds) for costdown tracking.
+ Support PMO initiativies; project support and financial modelling.
+ Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to verify financeactions/issues are being tracked and progress is occurring in eachmanufacturing site.
+ Implement standardized processes to report and forecast inventory withinMemphis Mfg Facility.
+ Perform ad hoc projects, analyses, reporting, and tasks as required.
+ Provide business partnering, including financial reporting and analysis,for operations strategic initiatives
+ Business partner with the VPs and Directors of Contract Manufacturing inMemphis
+ Business partner with other finance functions to understand OPCstatement during period end
+ Partner with the RD organization on project accounting includingproviding monthly reporting and analysis, partnering on forecast and AOPrequirements, and developing ad hoc financial modeling
Responsibilities may also include the

+ Comply with medical industry and Medtronic regulations.
+ Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/system items thatare personally applicable.
+ Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system complianceand high quality work.
+ Performs andanalyzes financial modeling, economic research, trends and studies subjectssuch as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments,and cost against budget, variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning andexpense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and/or incomestatements.
+ Preparesreports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financialplans and provides insights to management.
+ Develops,maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial informationsystems considering such things as information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting,and analysis.
+ May provideanalysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit,division or group.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors degree required
+ Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
**Nice to Have**
+ MBA or CPA
+ Medtronic business unit experience and/or experience in business partnering with Operations
+ Experience with JD Edwards, SAP and Hyperion
+ Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
+ Solid accounting foundation with high interest in financial modeling
+ Ability to interface in a team environment with various levels of management
+ High integrity and self confidence
+ Strong organization skills
+ High degree of initiative and self-motivation
