The Neuroscience Institute within the Dietrich College is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The postdoc will carry out independent research and/or directed research to understand the neuro-vascular underpinnings of auditory function in humans as well as marine mammals. The research will be focused on using electroencephalography and/or optical methods to measure neuro-vascular function under controlled conditions, which may include neurostimulation. Research questions will also be focused on the feasibility of neuro-monitoring in dolphins.
The position will require an in depth understanding of optical imaging and electroencephalography, signal processing, experience with human and animal research. The researcher will be responsible for human and animal experiments and will also assist with ongoing experiments in the lab. The postdoc will be expected to publish results in form of journal publications and will be expected to attend national and international conferences. The postdoc will further be required to interact with industry to help design an optical instrument to be used in marine mammals.
Doctorate Degree in a related field
Animal and human subject research experience
Additional required skills:
Strong background in optical imaging
Strong experience in neuro data analysis
Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills
Excellent verbal and written Communication, organization and planning skills
Analytical and image analysis skills
