The employee will carry out research on Multiphysics modeling of lithium ion battery for safety behaviors, funded by industrial funding. The employee will report to Professor Jun Xu and will be a senior member of Professor Jun Xu?s research group, supporting projects through original research, collaboration with other team members, and mentoring of students. The employee will also contribute to additional proposal efforts, thereby strengthening Company?s ability to attract external funding. The employee?s principal research responsibilities will be developing multiphysics modeling of lithium-ion batteries for safety behaviors. The employee will confer with Professor Jun Xu on overall research direction and strategy but will exercise a considerable amount of independent judgment and original thinking in carrying out research that contributes to original knowledge and advances the University?s reputation in research. The employee will publish research results, in collaboration with Professor Jun Xu, in recognized journals. The employee will share student mentoring with Professor Jun Xu and will participate in departmental seminars and other professional activities as assigned. The Postdoctoral appointee must have recently (within the last eight years) been awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., Sc.D., M.D.) in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related majors, specializing lithium ion modeling and simulation in multiphysics fields.
