Responsible for assisting in the administration and monitoring of tax equity and debt project finance and multi-draw structured financings in the Renewable Energy Finance (“REF”) portfolio. Such activities will include processing project related consent requests; ensuring compliance with the terms of transaction agreements; periodic project performance review; project performance forecasting and financial statement review; diligence associated with funding advances and construction draws; and monitoring the credit profile of key transaction counterparties (e.g. Borrowers, Servicers, Project Sponsors and Off-takers).
A key element of the Portfolio Credit Officer’s (“PCO’s”) role will be ongoing credit responsibility for – or assisting senior PCOs with – specific tax equity and debt project and structured financings. With respect to those financings, the PCO will also perform the monitoring requirements outlined in Global Leasing Credit Policy and REF Guidelines. This will include the preparation of status reviews and risk rating scorecards, as well as troubled asset reports. The PCO will also assist in overall REF portfolio monitoring and reporting, including responding to specific information requests on the portfolio from senior Credit, Risk, and business unit partners.
In executing these duties, the PCO will interact with senior Portfolio Credit Officers as well as partners in REF Program Management, Credit Underwriting, Engineering, Pricing, Legal and Contracts. The PCO will also directly interact with our clients in the context of routine administration and project/financial performance discussions, as well as to address any credit or technical issues that may develop with individual transactions or projects.
Undergraduate degree in finance, engineering, mathematics, accounting, or related areas. A MBA or participation in a 1+ year bank-sponsored commercial lending training program preferred.
Preferred Prior Work Experience:
2 to 5 years’ experience in commercial banking, leasing, or finance industry in a commercial credit and/or project finance setting. Candidate’s experience should demonstrate an aptitude for complex credit analysis, project performance analysis, industry analysis, documentation review, and financial modeling.
Expandable candidate with strong analytical skills applicable to commercial credit and project finance transaction management.
Strong computer skills in such applications as Excel, Tableau, Power Point, and Word. Capable of understanding and modifying complex financial models. Also comfortable building and maintaining information databases, as well as developing associated reports.
Exposure to (or capability to learn) key elements of complex transaction structures (tax equity and debt) and renewable energy generation projects. Similar aptitude for reviewing and understanding legal documents and project contracts.
Ability to work efficiently and productively on several transactions or tasks at one time.
Ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients and partners.
Clear and articulate oral and written communication skills
Results oriented; is able to meet deadlines.
