The Polisher polishes and prepares all parts prior to painting and finishing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates jitterbug, buffing and polishing machinery and hand grinder to prepare all parts for finishing
Polishes all spot welds and parting lines using appropriate equipment
Applies satin finishes and polishes parts to achieve appropriate colors
Processes job orders following specifications on routing sheet
May train new associates on polishing processes
May perform other duties, from time to time, as assigned by supervisor
Willingness and ability to working in an environment with paint, dust, fumes, noise, and increased temperatures during warm weather.
This job requires the use of gloves, safety apparel, and hearing protection.
May handle hazardous waste using proper safety process
Communicate quality, safety, or other concerns to team members, manufacturing engineers and supervisors
High School Degree or GED required
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow work instructions as needed
Able to meet physical requirements of the job: lift up to 35 pounds, complete assisted lifts of 35-50 pounds, push or pull containers on a pallet jacks, repetitive bending and stooping, and may require occasional lifting overhead
Must be willing and able to get respirator clearance and annual respiratory checks
Polishing experience preferred
Productive and results driven
Team oriented, knowing when to lead and when to follow
Able to adapt to change in roles, responsibility, work station set up as needed
