Job Summary:
This position is responsible for administering all facets of permitting to support construction activities, including overseeing the work completed by contractors, assuring the quality of the constructed plant, tracking projects for timely completion, and providing updates to Company personnel. Additional responsibilities include scheduling, and ensuring compliance with Company practices, policies, and procedures. This person needs to be someone who is a self starter and is able to work under minimum supervision.
Primary Responsibilities: (May perform any or all of the following duties):
• Review construction permit documents
• Verify required permitting for construction jobs
• Work with permitting entities on the status of submissions
• Work with Company personnel to provide updated status of projects.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with all Company, G.O. 95, G. O. 128, and OSHA safety procedures and guidelines.
• Perform quality control inspections of -all contract work, to include permits.
• Review and approve all construction pre-billing and invoices.
• Monitor project tracking status using the project tracking tool.
• Follow-up on all customer complaints related to the contractors.
• Assist with construction progress reports.
• Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
• Track contractor performance based on QC's and area feedback.
Additional Requirements:
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Advanced training or Bachelor's degree in technical or engineering areas preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years related experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain a valid California driver's license.
• Must have knowledge of basic fundamental drafting.
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills and good organizational skills.
• Must be able to interact with interdepartmental staff, customers and outside workers.
• Must be familiar with construction process, materials management, and labor estimating.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, Access, Project, and Outlook.
• Must have a strong background on CATV construction practices and procedures.
• Must be able to work with diverse groups of employees, vendors, consultants and contractors.
• Must be able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented work environment.
• Must be able to demonstrate organizational and planning skills.
• Must be able to learn company applications and systems.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must have demonstrated verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Must have Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
• Ability to represent Company in a professional manner to utilities and government agencies.
• Ability to build relationships with utilities and government agencies to ensure satisfaction with Company construction and smooth processing of applications
• Familiarity with land surveys and stationing
• Ability to track multiple projects in various stages of construction
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
