As a Food Service Distributor, we HAVE to get the Supply Chain right!

From the demand forecasting on the front end of the Supply Chain through product purchase, end-to-end inventory optimization, warehouse management, and logistics, our Supply Chain teams optimize our investment in inventory while getting our customers what they want, on time, and where it needs to be. It's no small feat to distribute products from over 3,500 suppliers through 24 distribution centers and over 170 retail stores. But we take pride in doing it every day, and doing it well!
We are excited to on-board Perishable Replenishment Buyer COP (Beef and Pork) for our Mid-Atlantic Division. The role is instrumental to the Marketing team as the Replenishment Buyer serves as a merchandising generalist for replenishment and procurement for a specified division. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate cost records, product life‐cycle management, and managing fully landed product costs. This role will act as the divisional resource for inventory and supplier related business needs (primary supplier contact).

This role will support new supplier and item set‐up process and system activities.
This role will lead inventory management activities for all product conversions.
The opportunity to collaborate with suppliers to solve quality and/or service problems; expedites deliveries as necessary.
Responsible for releasing Purchase Orders, and replenishing inventory.
Establishes and maintains business rules / processes for service levels, safety stock, inbound freight networks, etc.
This role will own supplier service level performance metrics (fill‐rate, on time delivery, spoilage and liquidation, PO match); drives necessary continuous improvement to these measures.
Responsible for primary and backup sourcing solutions.
Assists in developing strategies and action plans to achieve desired fully landed product cost solutions.
What we need from you?
Requires the ability to find creative replenishment/recovery solutions and quickly change directions as situations dictate.
Ability to work in teams, interact with others across departments/roles, develop relationships, etc.
Self-Management - self-directed with ability to deal with distraction, repetition, prioritization, fluctuations in workload, ambiguity, etc.
Communication - excellent written, verbal, organizational and communication skills.
Time Management - ability to multi-task, prioritize, and execute efficient work processes.
Supply Chain Management - knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits
Product and Category - advanced knowledge of perishable supply chain principles and techniques.
Ability to identify, resolve issues, and communicate concerns and successes to appropriate personnel in a highly professional and efficient manner.
Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, e-mail, and Google applications.
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
Leading Candidates will have….
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Five or more year’s previous experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Product or Category Management.
Knowledge of JDA software is a plus.
