Join a winning team supporting the Communications Department where you will be making a difference in our patient experience as a PBX Operator. This PBX Operator position is located at our Company Memorial Hospital La Jolla campus. You will experience the pride and support of being a member of an outstanding team where we share a culture of providing excellent care to our patients and each other. As a PBX Operator you will be responsible for the following:
Answering calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination.
Appropriately responding to and documenting emergency situations, per policy and guidelines.
Acting as a part of a team, including training new employees. Paging physicians, security or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or over-head PA system.
Following all documentation procedures. Completing additional tasks such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices and completing and distributing daily sheets.
This is a Casual (per diem, non-benefitted), Varied Shift position currently located at our Company Memorial Hospital La Jolla campus, but may be relocated to our 4S Ranch Business Services office in Rancho Bernardo. Flexible availability is required as shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Strong customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to work in a fast paced environment using repetitive hand motion with the ability to multi-task.
Health care experience.
Call Center/PBX experience.
