The Painter sprays parts with powder coat paint and is also responsible for performing end of line inspection on all painted parts, to ensure uniformity and quality. This role is physical in nature, and requires attention to detail to ensure constant attention to powder coat application and inspection of finished goods to ensure conformance with specifications and the company’s quality standards. Additionally, the role will ensure that documentation requirements are followed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain electrostatic paint guns
Maintains and repairs electrostatic guns, paint pumps and the equipment in the manual and automatic paint booths as required, including cleaning, repairing defective parts and preventive maintenance
Clean area and complete 5S duties
Changes filters on paint booths
Performs various tests on products after painting
Completes visual inspection to determine if painted products meet required specifications
Reviews parts’ traveler to determine proper configuration
Rejects parts that do not meet specifications and documents quality failures
Completes required documentation in timely manner
Reviews work and documentation to ensure accurate reporting
Train associates as needed
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Judgment - work requires some judgment to efficiently perform the work and determine if a painted part is acceptable. Most work procedures are specified in advance.
Teamwork – must be willing and able to work closely with others in production lines
The Painter must be able to meet physical requirements of the job: lift up to 35 pounds, complete assisted lifts of 35-50 pounds, push or pull containers on a pallet jacks, repetitive bending and stooping, and may require occasional lifting overhead. The Painter’s role requires working in an environment with paint, dust, fumes, noise, and increased temperatures during warm weather.
Education and/or Experience:
Experience in powder painting preferred
High School Degree or equivalent required
