The Ordering Operations Specialist will be responsible for reconciling the restricted capacities within the region, at both a carline level as well as component level. Based on the current installation rates, stock levels and special orders, the successful candidate will determine which markets receive inventory priority. In addition, the specialist will work with the factories and the Sales Planning groups within the region and in Germany to communicate future demands and plan potential implications to capacity. The objective of this position is to ensure a continuous flow of production filling at the factory with market orders that match forecast.
The Ordering Operations Specialist will also be the key liaison between the markets (USA, Canada and Mexico) the factory, and planning departments in Germany. The individual will ensure European, Mexican and US factories production constraints are reconciled with the Market orders and are sequenced and released accordingly.
Represent North American Region during the weekly production volume allocation process; assign volumes to the markets within the region, based on production constraints, current inventory situation, and other factors.
Work with the three markets to fill the weekly production program.
Manage over and undersupply through negotiations with the factory, planning departments, and NAR markets.
Analyze market forecasts for components, communicate any potential capacity challenges to the markets and upload changes for visibility
Provide early notification (forecast of heavy items) to factories of upcoming production needs to support the procurement process through close communication with Global component planning.
Communicate production filling challenges in weekly MPA calls with the factories, German Component Planners/Capacity Planning, and Logistics
Participate in sales planning to reach wholesale and retail targets by analyzing mixes and restriction capacities.
Monthly review of inventory situation. Align volume allocations provided by Germany with production request, distributing production within the region based on stock levels, incremental spot buys, and other various situations.
Lead process improvements for better communication between factory and market to increase productivity.
Analyze and report factory commitments to production utilizing influencing skills where possible or alert management to production supply issues.
Lead weekly alignment meetings with the Sales Planning teams and factory personnel to analyze current challenges/constraints, future demands, and collaborate towards contingency planning
Take part in vehicle launch activities providing order scheduling and analysis according to launch timelines.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives including refinement of Business Intelligence, communication, IT and processes.
Years of experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a logistics environment
Education - Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field
Qualifications - Required:
The candidate must have initiative, creative thinker, detail oriented, possess excellent problem solving skills
Flexibility to execute and multi-task in a fast-pace environment
Solid influential ability
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Outstanding communication, presentation and collaboration skills
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
Experience in Enterprise Business Intelligence and Planning and Consolidation Software [such as Business Objects or Cognos]
Working experience in a logistics environment
Strong data and IT acumen
Qualifications - Desired:
Importer & Distributor Knowledge
Experience of a manufacturing environment
German or Spanish Speaking
Experience in FAVAS,MBV, PVP, Supertool
Thursday requirement to work on German time (4:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
