Accurately and efficiently selects proper merchandise to fill customer orders using the transcollector or scan gun. Uses scripts in transcollector or scan gun to verify and check on locations and to enter data. Makes location changes when needed and transfers material immediately in scan guns.
Accurately and legibly completes necessary paperwork.
Picks, packs and ships merchandise to customer as proficiently and efficiently as possible.
When picking and packing:
Picks order as expeditiously as possible
Picks and packs neatly and in layers
Adequately places or cuts down any empty cartons as necessary
Does not leave loose rolls on shelf or floor
If at all possible, completes order picked (does not give to someone else to finish)
Uses most compatible carton when picking and placing merchandise in box
Picks and sets down on cart or pallet in order as presented on pick list
Put initials or name on left side of pick list under shipping block
Places merchandise in appropriate staging/packing areas
Must be able to maintain inventory
Maintains a clean and orderly work environment. Keeps area clean and garbage emptied.
Trains new employees as required.
Loads / unloads trailers at any given time.
Completes daily production sheets.
Communicates specific shipping strategies with co-workers when necessary, or when changes occur.
Follows Company safety policies and procedures and good housekeeping practices.
Keeps Manager, Supervisor or Shift Leader informed, on a timely basis, of any safety hazards or problem situations.
Performs any other task necessary for the smooth operation of the department as a whole.
Ability to read, write and perform basic math.
Must have legible handwriting.
Must meet daily shipping deadlines.
Must be trained in the use of scan gun and all functions associated with the transponder and scan guns for picking and packing and pass annual recertification testing.
Must be able to work as a team with fellow workers.
Receptiveness to overtime required in the department.
