Work with a world class team to provide enterprise-wide, Company Database Administration support for production systems and provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, database generation, coding, and database production support. Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timeliness. Provide accurate and creative solutions to user problems of moderate nature to ensure user productivity.
Provide Development and/or Production support. This includes creating primary database storage structures, designing and creating primary objects, modifying database structure as necessary for enhancements or performance, creating documentation, designing interfaces, database objects, and creating plans. Monitor and optimize performance of the database, plan for backup and recovery of the database, and allocate system storage and plan future storage needs. Create database-related scripts and programs to support development and production environments. Research, evaluate, design, test, recommend, and plan implementation of new or improved RDBMS, ETL and database tools.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with multiple distributed relational DBSM*s or a depth and focus in Company and related tools. Exposure and practice at using the DBMS to optimize performance of large databases for enterprise use is preferred. Experience with an organization with a key 24 X 7 reliance on its database is desirable. BS or equivalent desired.

About the position
Our continued growth has resulted in an exciting Company Database Reliability Developer opportunity in our Santa Clara, CA, USA location within our Company Cloud Service Center (OCSC).
We are looking for a strong Company Database Reliability Developer (DBRD) who will help ensure the availability of our Cloud services 24x7x365. The (DBRD) will have a pulse on Company’s SaaS services at all times and be directly accountable for the troubleshooting and resolution of service issues while continuously working with engineering partners to improve telemetry and automation. Your goal is to improve availability by reducing time to mitigate, ensure we are measuring the right things, and automating tasks that impact development velocity, availability or productivity.
You will leverage excellence in communication, technical/business analysis, problem solving and attention to detail to methodically resolve issues. Technically, you will understand the full stack of the services you support (Network to Application to Database and back) and are able to dig deep into the service to determine how to best mitigate customer impact. Further, you will drive improvements through the development of tools and engage partner teams to drive down incident counts, reduce severity of events and minimize Time to Mitigate. You will help create a “Site Up” culture across all Company Cloud teams. We will look to the SRD to continually review and enhance systems, methods and applications to enable the delivery of a positive customer experience to highly acclaimed hosted products such as Company Fusion, Company Service Cloud, Company CRM, Company Recruiting Cloud and more.

- Bachelor Degree in computer science or 5+ years Company Database Administration experience
Ability to troubleshoot Company database performance issues (Analytical thinking)
Excellent understanding of the interaction between Company databases and Web solution components
Customer service minded
Ability to work effectively in a multi-location team
Ability to make decisions individually and/or within a team environment
Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
Experience with Company Enterprise Manager
Experience in High Availability and Disaster Recovery design using Company Database Technologies
Experience with Company Exadata (X3-2, X4-2, X5-2, X6-2, X7)
Experience with RAC, ASM, RMAN, Dataguard, Golden Gate
Working knowledge of PL/SQL
Technical writing skills (ENGLISH) is a plus
Company Linux administration expertise is a plus
