Position TitleOracle Database Developer
Job SummaryThe Oracle Developer DBA is responsible for programming new enhancements / modifications / bug fixes for the Mortrac system as it relates to the database. This includes adding and or modifying tables, triggers, stored procedures, indexes, etc. This individual needs to be very knowledgeable in Oracle as well as the overall development process. They will be responsible for communicating with individuals within IT, specifically, the Mortrac Analysts, Developers, and the Production DBA’s.
Review specification documents provided by the Business Analysts and make necessary changes to the application source code following all prescribed business practices.
Assist the Production DBA’s and development teams in analyzing the database in order to increase the efficiency of the system and to make recommendations on how the front-end could be tuned to work more efficiently.
Review and research the cause of any outstanding system production issues related to assigned areas and work with necessary individuals to correct these issues.
Assist in the testing and implementation of any new releases of the application software.
Meet regularly with the members of the other development teams as directed by the Team Manager to ensure that any new enhancements made to either system are coordinated to ensure consistency across environments.
Assist in researching new corporate initiatives assigned to the Development Teams.
Performs all responsibilities within the guidelines of Company and Information Technology policies and directives at or above Company’s performance and evaluation standards.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Complete all required compliance training. Maintain knowledge of and adhere to Company's internal compliance policies and procedures. Take responsibility to keep up to date with changing regulations and policies.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Math or related field plus 7 years of test driven development experience preferred – OR - 7 years of comparable work experience.
7 years of development experience (Finance/Lending industry experience a plus)
3 - 5 years in an Oracle development environment with Oracle relational databases
Experience with Java and/or PowerBuilder is preferred
3 years of using relational databases and writing basic queries (SQL and PL/SQL)
3 years of experience with various Software Development Life Cycle methods such as Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, etc.
Ability to communicate both verbally and non-verbally both technically and non-technically.
Ability to work with and assist in the development of technical documentation
Ability to develop IT requirements documentation and to plan, estimate, budget and control projects
Exceptional problem solving skills
Proven ability to design and build technical solutions using applicable technologies; ability to demonstrate strong coding skills
Strong experience with incident management leading both on and off hour ad hoc support teams.
Strong experience in interpreting customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements.
Ability to prioritize work by dividing time, attention and effort between current project workload and on-going support tasks
Proven ability to adapt to change in process, procedure and priorities.
