The Optimization Strategy team is part of Yahoo Sales. The team consists of Optimization Strategists who manage and optimize Yahoo Audience Ads and Video campaigns, helping advertisers meet and exceed performance goals.
A lot about you
Leveraging the best-in-class Brigthroll DSP, the Optimization Strategist proactively recommends optimizations to frequency caps, targeting criteria, audience segments, creative, landing pages and supply sources across Display, Video and Mobile. As an Optimization Strategist, you will “own” a set of our highest-value advertiser accounts together with your Sales counterparts from pre-sale, campaign set-up and optimization. You will work independently to identify, prioritize and provide necessary service and proactive advice for improvement of assigned accounts either through best practice implementation, account analysis, and/or category expertise. You will work directly with advertisers at all levels of their organization helping to identify opportunities and promote behavior that grows spend and ensures long-term client success with Yahoo Audience and Video Ads. This can include daily interaction as well as preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly senior executive presentations.
Your day
• “Own” a set of our highest-value advertiser accounts together with your Sales counterparts from pre-sale, campaign set-up and optimization.

• Work directly with advertisers at all levels of their organization helping to identify opportunities and promote behavior that grows spend and ensures long-term client success with Yahoo Audience and Video Ads. This can include daily interaction as well as preparation and delivery of monthly and quarterly senior executive presentations.
• Be an expert with respect to Yahoo Audience and Video Ads optimization opportunities and be able to communicate these to all levels of our advertisers’ organizations.
• Be an expert in at least one of Yahoo’s core advertising verticals, helping to drive thinking around that industry, share best practices and be a resource to other members of the Yahoo organization with respect to that category.
• Continually drive new thinking with respect to management of Display and Video campaigns, including development of best practices, development of new analytical techniques, industry-specific insights, etc.
You must have
• BA degree in marketing, advertising, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience providing strategic marketing advice either within a blue-chip company or as part of an agency.
• Strong understanding of all facets of digital marketing, best practice campaign development and management, and a willingness to continue to stay contemporary on trends within the industry
• Ability to solve problems and identify opportunities through the use of analytics, category expertise and critical thinking
• Excellent communications skills, with an ability to “think on your feet”
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Demonstrated success working in a cross-functional environment, leading change amongst peers and senior management
• Experience servicing and/or consulting in a vendor/client relationship
• Knowledge of broad marketing & advertising trends and frameworks
• Willingness to travel
