Provide leadership and direct management of a team of Operations Specialists and Internal Control Compliance Auditors. Maintain integrity by providing operational, audit and internal control support to branch staff ensuring effective adherence to and execution of corporate, regulatory and audit guidelines. Function as a leader to ensure improvement in operational performance in order to maximize branch sales and service within the assigned footprint.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This position should only be used in cases where the RBOM has 13 or more direct reports within the assigned region. Permission to assign an associate to this job must be granted in advance by the Community Banking President.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintain current professional and specialized knowledge of bank operations, risk management, security, and client problem resolution strategies and utilizes this knowledge and expertise to ensure operational and risk management excellence
Provide leadership and direct management of a team of Operations Specialists and Internal Control Compliance Auditors. Accountable for providing day to day leadership and coaching for assigned associates, developing and delivering Personal Development Plans and coaching plans, and responding to associate performance issues and disciplinary issues in consultation with the Regional Branch Operations Manager
Accountable for the oversight of daily branch operations functions and operational consultation to include record keeping, document preparation, processing, monitoring, research, compliance and follow-up. Provide direction and support to the Internal Control Compliance Auditors and Operations Specialist for the completion and documentation into ICE of the various functions in the Security, Internal Control/Audit process and Operational Risk Management areas.
Responsible for the completion and independent risk based approval of more complex operational and risk issues.
Responsible for providing oversight and/or delivery of operational compliance & security training to all branch associates on an ongoing basis with intense focus on the primary branch roles.
Provide oversight of and give performance feedback for the branch associates to the appropriate leadership in the areas of client service delivery, operational efficiency, and general observations
Lead and/or assist with operations related projects, initiatives and special assignments, as directed by the RBOM or Community Bank Operations.
On February 7, 2019, it was announced that SunTrust Banks, Inc. and BB&T Corporation intend to merge, with the combined entity to be named Company Corporation (“Truist”). The merger is subject to regulatory approval, and BB&T and SunTrust remain separate and independent companies until the merger closes. This position, which would be for a role with Truist or an affiliate, is contingent upon the merger receiving regulatory approval and closing.

Associate’s degree or equivalent education and related training
Minimum of seven years of experience in a Community Bank Operations role at BB&T or in other operations-related functions within another financial institution
Consistent success in effective problem resolution management
Demonstrated ability to influence others in the completion of significant operational tasks and assignments
Effective interpersonal and diplomacy skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Sound decision-making skills
Solid PC skills and understanding of standard software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Specialized client service training with proven results
Solid knowledge of banking operations/compliance and bank products and services, as appropriate
Strong desire to help associates and clients resolve problems successfully
Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
1. Three years of demonstrated leadership, coaching, training and managerial skills
