The Off Air Merchant is responsible for buying a product category (EA) which includes identifying, developing, negotiating price and terms, and executing new products, brands and ideas while maximizing multi-platform opportunities. In this role you will lead, manage and develop Company’s Off Air Merchant team for designated categories. Develop and plan seasonally appropriate off air merchandise assortments and identify key buy anytime item drivers within designated categories. Select extended assortment products based on relevant trends and understand how to translate them into off air products/concept for multi-platform retail. Perform duties according to company policies and procedures with latitude for independent judgment and initiative.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive EA/BA strategy for designated categories that aligns with merchandising and commerce platforms partners to drive off air sales.
Responsible for partnering with the off air planners & platform teams to develop Multi-Channel product strategies that encompass on-line, Mobile and other platforms.
Work closely with on-air buying teams to support a buying strategy that complements existing on air business.
Drives Buy Anytime Sales by working with Off Air Planning and eCommerce partners to discuss opportunities and placement of events or items.
Buyers, Off Air Planning and Ecommere to discuss industry trends, launches, competition and/or other happenings in e-commerce.
Responsible for working with extended assortment vendors and Ecommere to develop specific strategies for key brands specifically related to driving off-air revenue. Responsible for EA vendor communication, education, preparation and sales reporting.
Analyze sales to maximize the off-air product assortment. Manage the assortment strategies of extended assortment, developing new brands and categories of business. Analyze and react to sales accordingly.
Train, coach, and develop off air merchant staff. Accountable for successes and failures of self and staff. Create a coaching and feedback rich environment by providing regular, constructive feedback. Manage personal growth.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in merchandising or equivalent business experience.
Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in a buying position, eCommerce merchandising role, or equivalent combination of training and experience required
Ability to lead, direct and develop others.
Understanding and ability to do succession planning.
Ability to make decisions to achieve desired results.
Ability to analyze data and draw relevant conclusions to have positive effects on business..
Superior negotiation and persuasion skills.
Ability to access information using automated systems (e.g., windows based computer).
Ability to make oral and written presentations. Ability and confidence to present opinions and thoughts in a clear, unbiased manner.
