As a Pathways Direct-Hire, you will be placed in a role based on professional experience and business priorities, focused on one of a few areas including: Asset & Wealth Management, Consumer & Community Banking, Commercial Banking, and Corporate & Investment Banking.
To ensure continuous development throughout the program, each candidate will receive mentorship, guidance, and support from your individual manager, program manager, veteran sponsor and many other influential business partners across the firm.
In addition to your business role responsibilities, as a Pathways member you will participate in training programs, learning sessions, individual mentoring relationships, and networking events. You will interact with Company Chase & Co. senior management and partner with a military veteran sponsor who will assist you with the transition from military life into our organization. You can also become a member of our Veteran’s Business Resource Group, an employee group that supports veteran causes. And of course, you will have the strong support network of your fellow military veteran colleagues. The cohort format of Pathways will provide you with a network of peers to share experiences and a sense of community amongst fellow veterans as you contribute to a business area aligned to your skillset.
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS DESCRIPTION
Company Asset & Wealth Management, with client assets of $2.8 trillion, is a global leader in investment and wealth management. Its clients include institutions, high-net-worth individuals and retail investors in every major market throughout the world. The division offers investment management across all major asset classes including equities, fixed income, alternatives, multi-asset and money market funds. For individual investors, the business also provides retirement products and services, brokerage and banking services including trusts and estates, loans, mortgages and deposits.
We are looking for candidates to join the Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. Our FP&A team is responsible for a wide range of activities including financial control, forecasting and budgeting, analysis of financial/business metrics, delivery of weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting, development of new reporting capabilities (e.g. dashboards), and advising the line of business CFOs on how to increase profitability and efficiencies. The team also acts as the primary link to the JPMC corporate team for communicating the AWM financials up through the organization, working closely with them on the quarterly earnings release and regulatory filings (10K, 10Q etc).
In the role you will be given ownership for the execution of many of the above tasks. You will initially focus on one of our key financial measures such as revenues, expenses, assets under management, or profitability modelling, where you will gain a broad exposure to the business drivers of Asset & Wealth Management. You will be expected to interact not just within the FP&A teams, but also across the Finance & Business Management function and with peers and management across the business.
The key responsibilities of the role could include:
Calculation and consolidation of the month-end results, the forecast for the remainder of the year, and the budget for future years.
Perform variance analysis to understand the key drivers of the results and provide commentary explaining changes from prior forecasts/budgets.
Produce weekly/monthly/quarterly and adhoc reporting of the results and drivers for senior management.
Enhance controls and streamline processes, introducing automation where possible.
Oversight and liaison with team members in India to ensure deadlines are met and that reporting is accurate and timely.
Work on projects to drive global consistency and create synergies across the team. An example would be developing a new expense forecasting tool.
U.S. Military Veteran Applicant Qualifications
Location: Plano, TX.
Enlisted/Junior Officer background with 4+ years of Military experience
0-5 years of separation from military service
Demonstrated learning agility
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Forward thinking and able to work through complex and unpredictable circumstances
Ability to adapt to change and achieve positive business outcomes
Ability to participate in scheduled Induction training in April, 2020.
Financial Analysis Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a subject of a technical nature.
3+ years of work experience, preferably in Financial Services, and/or accounting/controller background.
Advanced skills in Excel and Powerpoint, preferably with experience of Hyperion Essbase and Access.
Inquisitive, enthusiastic and diligent, and capable of challenging peers.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
Highly motivated and able to thrive and think clearly under pressure and tight deadlines.
Integrity in handling highly sensitive and confidential information.
Team player with the ability to be respected as a trusted partner for the Business, Finance, and FP&A Teams.
