The Manager, Media Logistics, is a key position within the Media Management Group that is responsible for the acquisition, ingest and preparation of all content to be used across all Company platforms (broadcast & advanced platforms), including BBC America. In addition, this manager will supervise the entry of program attribute information into various broadcast databases and will assist in the planning and creation of yearly budgets.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage avails lists and ensure all programs arrive on time and comply to the networks technical and content standards guidelines.
Manage quality control (QC) and preparation processes through internal and external service providers.
Instruct edit resources on formatting requirements.
Under supervision of Director, design and maintain all best practices documentation including process policies and guidelines.
Manage staff and promote positive work environment.
Provide cost estimates, track expenses and assist in yearly budget planning.
Attend meetings and participate in special department projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS(Required & Preferred)
Minimum of 6 years’ previous work experience in Media Operations setting.
Detail orientated, organized and able to effectively prioritize multiple projects at the same time.
Effective communicator with the ability to manage down, up and laterally.
Excellent skills in verbal and written communication as well as relationship building.
Able to manage team, motivate others and create positive work environment.
Able to work under pressure of tight deadlines.
Critical thinker, always seeking new, more efficient methods to improve processes and workflows.
Strong computer skills with working knowledge of databases and a technical proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Previous experience with digital file delivery process and workflows.
Previous budget experience a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree, film/communications major preferred.
