Create CNC programs, design fixtures and oversee Tool Room machines to produce complex prototypes.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineering Prototypes and Manufacturing tools, fixtures.
Identify and evaluate new tooling technologies
Perform advanced programming (Arithmetic arguments & Macro-B) and conversational programming.
Write programs for 3, 4 and 5 axis mills.
Utilize programming computer aided languages that apply.
Demonstrate and train operators on programs created.
Demonstrate and train entry-level programmers.
Maintain appropriate levels of documentation.
Read and interpret prints and sketches to establish machining processes.
Assist in the selection and operation of equipment and tooling
Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
Good communication skills both written and oral.
Knowledge of machining.
Knowledge of process planning.
Ability to develop multistage operations to insure faster throughput, lower tooling costs, greater machine utilization, faster process planning, and higher quality.
Ability to advise in the design of rigid but versatile fixtures.
Ability to anticipate both the movement of the tools and clamping requirements necessary to secure the work piece.
Ability to visualize the part orientations with respect to the limitations of the machine tool.
Knowledge of CREO/Manufacturing, AUTO DESK Powermill Software a plus, for creation of CNC programs.
Knowledge of Vericut verification software
Education and Experience Requirements:
2 year Technical Degree in CNC Programming or Model Maker preferred.
Minimum of 4 years machine shop and related setup applications.
Minimum of 3 years programming experience with mills and lathes.
Shop floor support, editing, and program prove-out experience preferred.
