The Merchandising Team Lead is primarily responsible for leading the execution of in-store merchandising standards that drive store sales and customer service. The ability to understand and utilize company directives and merchandise guidelines is essential to success in this role. This position is full time and requires early morning shifts (6am) during the week and weekend, plus occasional evening shifts .
The Merchandising Team Lead is primarily responsible for leading the execution of in-store merchandising standards that drive store sales and customer service. The MTL will partner closely with the Operations Team Manager, the operations, sales, and visual teams to ensure new receipts are merchandised in a way that aligns with our brand, appeals to our customers. The ability to understand and utilize company directives and merchandise guidelines is essential to success in this role.
The lead reports directly to the Operations Team Manager and serves as a key holder for the store. This position is full time and requires early morning shifts, plus nights and weekends as scheduled.
Ensure new receipts are merchandised on the sales floor following company guidelines while interpreting the directives.
Understand selling trends and merchandise each department following company directives while also appealing to customers.
Lead merchandising associates to achieve and maintain merchandising excellence, discuss new products and changes to presentation.
Maintain store standards, rotate products, set up merchandise displays, ensure price and sign accuracy, and restock as necessary.
Ensure execution of markdowns.
Coordinate team projects, materials, merchandise and fixtures for floor moves and sets.
Must be proficient in running the register and able to sell during designated periods of high volume or low floor coverage.
Maintain a neat and professional appearance in compliance with dress code.
Assist in training of new associates.
Follow all safety and risk management guidelines and policies.
Ability to stand most of the work day.
Ability to climb ladders to merchandise and set high wall areas.
Ability to move merchandise on the sales floor.
Ability to use business related equipment: computer keyboard, price scanner, printer, and register.
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Ability to push/pull receiving equipment.
Ability to twist, bend, stoop and reach to retrieve and place items from floor, shelves, racks, and hooks.
Ability to work at a safe and steady pace.
Minimum 1 year in merchandising and/or visual merchandising or comparable experience.
