Responsible for the development and maintenance of merchandise plans including category plans, OTB’s, forecasting, assortment strategy, analysis, buyer support and product life-cycle planning in order to achieve increased sales and inventory turn in accordance with company sales goals.
-Ensure the merchandise plan fits the expected goals (sales, margin and inventory) for the assigned categories and supports the overall objectives of the company. Planning by location type (comp, non-comp, new and warehouse) for the elements of sales, margin and inventory that balance to the product plans by month. Partner with the CMT Buyer/Asst. Buyer to develop successful, profitable, and productive assortments.
-Develop and ensure the accuracy of planning reports/diaries and any other material presented to or reviewed by other members of the CMT, planning group or management. Frequent review of the assigned category management team’s plans to make recommended adjustments to improve profitability and/or productivity of assigned categories. Aid in product distribution for the Inventory Analyst as part of allocation, distribution and stock balancing to maximize sales and turnover. Ensure plans by location type (comp, non-comp, new and warehouse) and balance to the product plans.
-Educating and training any new users to JDA Enterprise Planning within their assigned category management teams. Actively participating in Strategic Planning by incorporating a short term and long term vision to identify and incorporate risks and opportunities into the corporate plans. Will have additional ad hoc responsibilities as needed. Utilize additional tools (APT, Microstrategy, or other reporting and analysis tools) to facilitate work efficiently and provide reporting and analysis.
-Maintains integrity and accuracy of category open-to-buy and make recommendations and/or adjustments as necessary. Produce and distribute each month a group of sales and margin reports by category management team. Facilitate fiscal planning/re-plan and any other related OTB/planning meetings. Managing the asset and memo open-to-buy for all assigned categories to ensure business maximization and the achievement of overall company goals. Recommend disposition of memo merchandise (buyout/RTV).
-Provide sales demand guidance to the In-stock Analyst. Manage and develop the In-Stock Analyst. Provide ad hoc analysis as requested by management and for support of the CMT. Supervising and managing ad hoc projects as assigned by MPI management.
