Housed within Citi’s Global Brand Team, and reporting to the Head of Brand Strategy, Media and Analytics, this position will help transform the way Citi approaches media to become a more modern, agile and innovative media center of excellence. The transformation should ensure that Citi is at the forefront of rapidly changing media behaviors/platforms/technology and industry best practices and ultimately enable Citi to maximize return on media investments.
Primary responsibilities include:
Lead development of digitally led, omnichannel media strategies and communication plans to maximize impact/ROI.
Partner closely with Creative/Content teams to jointly formulate media and content strategy
Work across the Global Brand Team, Global Public Affairs and Line of Business teams to ensure a highly integrated and aligned approach to media strategy and communications planning.
Partner with corporate communications and creative/content teams to develop and execute an owned and earned strategy.
Implement an agile/nimble approach to media which recognizes cultural moments, in real-time or planned, that create opportunities for brand activations that drive Citi’s relevance and reputation.
Manage day-to-day relationship with our agencies and provide direction that is clear and based on concrete rationale.
Work with internal and external partners to leverage data to maximize targeting efficiency
Develop social media strategy and execution plans leveraging best practices by platform
Create media partnerships which provide new and innovative ways of delivering Citi’s message including publisher generated content, events, etc.
Develop in-depth understanding of key target segments and develop a strategy and operational framework for targeting the right message to the right audience segment.
Institutionalize best practices for media buying, including programmatic, to maximize efficiency/effectiveness and leveraging Citi’s enterprise scale.
Keep the organization up to date with the latest trends and industry best practices regarding the most effective ways of reaching our target audiences and delivering our message.
Partner with and leverage research team to understand consumer insights for brief development and learn from brand research as a way to consistently enhance campaigns.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Company, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field required; Masters preferred
10+ years of relevant experience, including managerial
7+ years experience within a media agency environment highly preferred
Expertise in developing and managing effective digital and social media programs
Strong negotiation skills to drive maximum value from partnerships and media ventures
Proven track record of success in delivering high quality work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Effective team player with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, on budget and on time.
Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact and diplomacy.
