Job Summary:This position is responsible for following
standard work and safety processes to manually or mechanically receive, store,
handle, build and/or move material within the Distribution Center. The number
of core and flex skills required will increase as the level of the position
increases. Each role will be assigned to a primary functional area but is
expected to flex to other areas of the Distribution Center to support work as
needed

Position Functions
As assigned, complete training and daily inspections for safe and proper daily
handling of material handling equipment, propane cylinder exchange and storage,
securing of dock doors, dock locks, dock leveler and wheel chocks, battery changing
equipment
Perform work in compliance with quality requirements including count accuracy, quality
inspection, proper unit preparation for shipping, bin integrity maintenance, careful
product handling, identification/removal of damage, proper putbacks
Perform work in compliance with safety policies and procedures including safe work
standards, proper lifting and stacking techniques, power truck operations,
including safe pedestrian standards, housekeeping standards, proper banding,
stacking, palletizing and bin management, Incident and near miss reporting
Comply with security requirements for badge-swipes for building entry and exit,
security of gates and doors, and no weapons policies
Perform special handling duties including quality inspection, relabeling and
repalletizing
Attend work on time as scheduled and comply with other human resource and distribution
center guidelines and standards, including but not limited to policies
regarding protection of company assets, substance abuse, harassment, and smoke-free
workplace
Position Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalency
6+ months of experience and/or demonstrated proficiency in required material
handling skills needed to progress; or equivalent combination of education,
training and experience.
Proficiency with computers and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work extended hours as required.
Ability to operate scanning equipment.
Ability
to work safely with power tools.
Ability
to effectively communicate directly with Supervisor, Leadperson and peers.
Ability
to read, write and speak clearly in English.
Ability
to add, subtract, multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using
units of weight measurement, volume, square footage and distance.
Ability
to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram
form.
Ability
to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations.
Ability
to focus on details and block out continuous distractions.
Ability
to speak effectively and present information to customers and to all levels of
management and associates in individual or group settings.
Ability
to handle confidential information and lead by setting a good example (role
model) - behavior consistent with words.
Ability
to work cross functionally with a fast paced leadership team.
Work Environment:
This
position works in a loud distribution center and manufacturing environment,
with exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
