This role will build a strategic vision, brand, innovative creative design, and capabilities for the instructional design teams at Company. You will be responsible for improving the productivity of the organization’s design teams, oversee the development of content, deliverables, select emerging design technologies, and ultimately, drive revenue for Company.
The Main Responsibilities
Achieve strategic objectives by managing a team of direct reports and indirect reports , overseeing their performance, metrics, output, skill development, and career projection.
Oversee resource allocation and priority of projects coming into the instructional & creative design space.
Provide effective growth and development opportunities.
Work effectively with others to provide support to internal customers.
Partner with HRBPs to ensure consistency of training policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in order to support the processes and effectiveness of the overall team.
Identify and manage contractors and outside vendors as needed.
Instructional Design and Creativity
Build and implement instructional design standards encompassing all forms of training delivery and throughout all training for the company.
Collaborate with the brand team to meet corporate brand standards, and exemplify the desired culture and unifying principles of the organization.
Propose new and creative ways to make learning more efficient, engaging, and effective, by all forms of media and technologies appropriately.
Be aware of the entire instructional technologies landscape and continually building business cases to evaluate and implement new technologies.
Oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of instructional and creative design technology
Improve the development processes for designers, and the learning experience for our end users.
Manage and monitor the budget and spend across the entire function.
Maintain the entire portfolio of instructional design projects for Company.
Oversee design, development, and delivery of training across a variety of tools, including eLearning, facilitation, video, PowerPoint, and print.
Streamline the design process, from scoping through delivery, ensuring ultimate quality assurance and efficiency.
Oversee the development of course assessments and evaluations and customer service metrics for the design function.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in a leadership role developing curriculum, training tools, instructional and creative design
6+ years experience managing a large volume professionals, specifically those in instructional/ creative design
Advanced experience with a wide variety of instructional technologies such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Advanced experience with instructional design methodologies, processes, and delivery mediums.
Strong reporting, metrics, and analytical capabilities.
Demonstrated strong attention to detail, problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills.
Excellent written communication, presentation and verbal communication skills.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Comfortable consulting with customers and tactfully providing perspectives on how to maximize learning effectiveness.
Strong organization, project management, and customer service skills.
Ability to think conceptually and strategically, while maintaining a cost-conscious and practical approach to using time and resources.
Strong consulting and facilitation skills and ability to present ideas to executives
Strong project planning skills associated with learning and development initiatives
Industry experience in a large technology or telecommunications company
Holds team to delivering the highest quality in the final outcome and strives for excellence
