The SolarSPELL initiative is seeking a creative, dedicated individual to assist with video production projects as a management intern.
This is a part-time non-benefits eligible position that will be 19 hours per week or less.
Plan, film, and edit videos of SolarSPELL events
Assist in the ideation and creation of instructional videos for the SolarSPELL Learning Modules and SolarSPELL Health
Plan, film, and edit marketing and fundraising videos in coordination with SolarSPELL’s Marketing and Communications intern
Adhere to SolarSPELL and Company branding guidelines for production of videos
Standardize SolarSPELL videography team operating procedures
Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently
Ability to have a flexible schedule
Experience in being detail oriented
Evidence of being creative and eager to apply innovative ideas to video conceptualization
Knowledge of video production techniques and theory
Video animation skills highly preferred
Activities are performed in an environmentally-controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
SolarSPELL is a solar-powered, offline digital library designed to provide educational resources to resource constrained locations that lack reliable access to electricity, the Internet, and traditional libraries. To overcome this obstacle, SolarSPELL libraries emit an offline WiFi hotspot, to which any WiFi capable device (smartphones, tablets, laptops) can connect and surf the library’s expansive content for free. With over 365 units in the field across the Pacific Islands (Vanuatu, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, and the Federated States of Micronesia) and East Africa (Rwanda, Comoros, and South Sudan), the SolarSPELL project is continuing to scale!
