Supervisor’s Title: Plant Manager

Provide leadership and supervision for the maintenance department and all its functions to maintain a people safe, food safe, environment safe and efficient plant that is driven towards eliminating breakdowns and reducing maintenance costs.
Ensure plant meets GRMS, OSHA, and LOTO requirements and all USDA and EPA standards.
Lead the Progressive Maintenance Pillar for the plant in the GPS system continually driving towards zero breakdowns and reduced maintenance costs.
Maintain department budget and ensure projects stay with budget parameters.
Execute an effective preventive maintenance program to minimize unscheduled down time.
Develop CER’s and manage plant level capital projects.
Assist in developing the site plan.
Identify, mentor, train and develop future Company leaders with a zero loss mentality.
Create and maintain a working environment that fosters positive attitudes and integrity in keeping with Company standards.
Develop a master plan, shutdown plan, and a schedule for each plan.
Compile production loss reporting due to equipment failure.
Provide timely planning of Safety, USDA, Quality and General work orders.
Provide a yearly equipment condition analysis.
Facilitate “root cause failure analysis” for each equipment failure based on a priority affecting the production schedule.
Maintain equipment history and equipment documents in a useable library.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requires an Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and delegate assignments to others.
Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.
Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.
Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing or balancing.
Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds.
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Involves moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
Should be able to identify and distinguish colors, and see clearly at 20 inches or closer.
TYPICAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment and light traffic).
May be exposed to humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, and fumes and toxic chemicals.
May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.
Minimal travel required limited within the local area.
