Themachine learningspecialist is an expert in data mining and analytics and possesses solid machine learning knowledge (theories, algorithms, applications). The incumbent will be called upon to design, implement and optimizemachine learningtechniques for video games. S/he will chiefly focus on user issues in order to analyze, model and optimize their experience.
The main and routine tasks of the machine learning specialist are to:
• In collaboration with developers, determine new opportunities to apply machine learning in Company's video games;
• Contribute to application development, from data collection and preparation to production users;
• optimize current systems by imagining, implementing and evaluating alternative approaches;
• Research, design and develop statistical models to explain pas behaivours and predict future behaviours for all products;
• Conduct complex statistical analyses on experimental and business data to validate and quantify trends and patterns;
• Follow algorithm and technological advances with a view to implement them to meet corporate needs;
• Support studio decision making by imparting quantitative logic to various scenarios;
• Carry out all related tasks.
Qualifications
Training
Master's or PhD in Machine Learning, AI, statistics or equivalent.
Relevant experience
• Experience in statistics and data modeling in an applied context and experience in supporting predictive model development;
• Experience in data mining and machine learning with vast amounts of data;
• Experience in the video game sector an asset
Skills
• Ability to analyze, apply and adapt learning algorithms developed in leading scientific papers
• Ability to analyze, apply and adapt learning algorithms developed in leading scientific papers
• Ability to reconcile the technical and business perspectives
Knowledge
• Expertise in machine learning : supervised/unsupervised, reiforced, Bayesian, deep learning, etc.
• Proficiency in Python/C++; knowledge of other programming languages (R, Java, C#, Scala, Julia, Lua, etc.) an asset
• Knowledge of at least one mahine learning library (e.g. Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, THeano, Torch, CNTK, etc.)
• Knowledge of SQL database systems
• Knowledge of big data analytics technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, NoSQ, etc.) an asset
