The successful candidate will join the growing team of Electrify America, a subsidiary of Company leading the implementation of the $2B Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Investment Plan. Electrify America is tasked with creating and facilitating a highly visible, reliable, interoperable and driver-oriented Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure network to support the increased adoption of Electric Vehicles in California and the rest of the United States. It will create the “Gas Stations of the Future” by investing in a range of current and future charging technologies that will provide ubiquitous access to EV drivers along highways, in metro areas, at multi-unit dwells, at workplaces and in ridesharing programs. Electrify America will also invest in initiatives to increase the awareness and education of driving electric and will support a number of strategic ‘Green Cities’ programs in California. Through its programs, Electrify America’s investment will enable millions of Americans to discover the benefits of driving electric.
Location Strategy Lead will be a critical team member of the Real Estate Planning and Acquisition group. They will be the primary owner of the organization’s geographic information systems and manage all relevant research, models and data layers to inform investment decisions for charging locations to maximize utilization, ease of access and visibility. They will source various data points including traffic volumes, vehicle sales, demographics and others to create the GIS, ensuring learning and best practice from existing industry site acquisition strategies such as fueling stations, retailers and restaurants. The candidate will work closely with data and mapping vendors to continuously update and improve the model for site selection and validation, and train other members in the team, including the Charging Operations field team in use of mapping tools. The candidate will monitor trends in the EV charging infrastructure space and ensure investments are complimentary to existing and planned industry activity.
The candidate will have experience in identifying and validating real estate through geospatial analysis and will have a strong understanding of GIS mapping software and associated data sources. They will have good design skills to be able to create maps for operational use and for use in reporting, proposals and presentations.
Leads the Electrify America geographic information system (GIS) including developing, maintaining and constantly improving associated methodology and metrics for geospatial analysis of individual charging locations to optimize placement for utilization, accessibility and visibility.
Performs site research, assesses various demographic, vehicle sales, traffic pattern, urban planning and safety data sources, PlugShare, real estate pipeline, operational realities and integrates into GIS.
Develops a utilization model based on various data sources to project potential charger utilization to inform investment decisions including, procurement of high EV potential cellphone travel pattern data.
Identify and implement software tools for real estate acquisition and operations that allow for easement identification, boundary demarcation and property ownership
Collects, compiles, and researches information on existing charging locations and benchmarks with comparable industries such as fueling retailers.
Collaborates with utility team to create nationwide scoring metric that calibrates EV rates and demand charges to score preferable census tracts
Creates and maintains mapping data layers used as components of geospatial presentations. Prepares and coordinates presentations for real estate team including mapping visualizations for status reports and proposals.
Manages vendor relationships including data providers, mapping platforms and existing charging station location service providers.
Provides training on GIS to internal groups including Charging Operations, Planning, Marketing and Commissioning and Government Affairs Teams. Acts as a source of expertise, providing ad hoc support to perform proximity and geospatial analysis.
Support Government Affairs with all aspects of quarterly CARB and consent decree reporting, requiring detailed LIC/DAC analysis for both real estate and marketing Learn and Drive market selection for Green Cities
Years of Relevant Experience:
7-9 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor degree

Experience in effectively managing vendors
Understanding of project management techniques and methods

High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Experience within the commercial real estate or retail sector
