As Automation Architect you will be leading the development, writing and debugging of code to test existing and new software product applications. You will participate in the design or extension of frameworks and test harnesses and perform testing at a code level; interact closely with the development team and with other department personnel; program tools and utilities to support work on projects; and write clear, maintainable and portable code.
You should have a solid understanding of two or more programming languages and experience applying them to automation projects.
Formulate and drive automation framework architecture decisions while overseeing current automation solutions; including but not limited to, UI, Infrastructure and Mobile automation
Assist and mentor Automation Engineers by providing guidance, technical insight, recommendations and technical requirements
Perform code and design reviews with considerations of scalability, performance, code efficiency and architectural approach;
Work closely with agile teams in planning and implementation
Collaborate with senior leadership team in developing strategic plans for continuous improvement and innovation
Build systems and processes that will give software developers confidence that they can release changes without regressions
Design, deliver and maintain cutting edge automation frameworks for testing applications across multiple distributed Agile teams; develop and maintain automated tests
Lead and mentor team of Automation Engineers on test methodologies, test automation coding standards and best practices through code reviews and designing quality test plans
Ensure effective collaboration between QA and cross-functional teams on the project

Travel component consists of quarterly visits to our Columbia, MD office, 2-3 days in duration, for planning sessions.
