NBC4 is looking for a Platform Manager to join our News department as a show producer for Today in LA morning newscast.
Responsible for the production of and overall editorial content for morning newscast in addition to other assigned content platforms/shows produced by NBC4, including but not limited to broadcast and digital.
Select the most compelling and relevant stories and provide vision and guidance for the Content Producers responsible for researching, writing, editing, producing and gathering the content.
Works with the production team to ensure smooth and seamless show productions as well as with the editorial team to ensure the most complete and up-to-date local news coverage.
Play an active role in the editorial process and advocate for their newscast.
Responsible for writing, producing, desktop editing and gathering content for all platforms.
Responsible for effectively managing a pool of content producers, coaching and mentoring as needed.
Expected to effectively cover for Executive Producer if needed.
Must be able to consistently execute and track goals specific to the morning news.
Minimum 5 years experience in newsgathering and/or production
Minimum 3 years experience writing and producing
Significant experience as a news producer in a top 20 market
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications or equivalent work experience

Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work any of a 24x7 shift and willingness to travel and work long hours and on weekends with short notice
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
