Job Summary:
Responsible for performing investigations of alleged criminal and/or other conduct which has or may result in a negative impact on the Company. This includes employee or non-employee criminal behavior as it relates to the Company as well as conduct which violates company policy. Investigations involve, but are not limited to; theft of services, theft of company property, vandalism, forgery, fraud, embezzlement, workplace violence, assaults, and burglary. Requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and works well in a team environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manages multiple types of investigations to include, but not limited to: theft of services, theft of company property, vandalism, forgery, fraud, embezzlement, workplace violence, assaults, and burglary.
• Produces factual, timely, accurate investigative reports.
• Utilize a working knowledge of applicable local, state and federal laws along with ability to identify elements required for possible criminal prosecution or civil remedies.
• Supports team strategy by developing and cultivating partnerships proactively across the business
• Supports Security team maturity by maintaining and or supporting Division wide security programs, processes or efforts as assigned
• Supports the management of local business and customer demands through a risk based operating model
• Prioritizes case load appropriate to Division team, Regional team and local business needs
• Supports the development, installation and maintenance of physical security technology necessary to protect the local business and aligning with company standards
• Overnight travel required (30%)
• Evenings, night and weekend work may be necessary as well as on-call responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
• Produces timely, accurate investigative reports.
• Manages multiple types of investigations (code of conduct, theft of service, misappropriation of funds, workplace violence) assuming control of high stress situations.
• Conducts interviews of suspects, witnesses, and victims.
• Documents, stores, and maintains evidence according to the chain of custody guidelines.
• Ensures that all investigations/inquiries are completely objective and brought to a logical conclusion in the best interest of the Company.
• Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with various law enforcement agencies. Often acts as single point-of-contact with law enforcement in cases involving employees or customers.
• Understands the laws and statutes impacting methods used in successful investigations, and is able to make well-rounded decisions based on this experience.
• Works undercover as needed performing appropriate sting operations and or controlled illegal equipment purchases.
• Performs surveillance activities as required.
• Testifies under oath in municipal, superior, and federal court as needed.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specifications:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
Field of Study: Business
Certifications: Law
Years' Experience:-Generally requires 2-5 years related experience
Additional Requirements:
• 3-5 years of corporate Security and or Law Enforcement experience desired; specifically in investigations and asset protection with customer service interactions
• Certified Fraud Examiner desired
• Travel expectations 25%-30%
• ASIS CRR, PSP or PCI certification desired
• Demonstrated expert level competency in investigative report writing
• Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
