Intern – Office of the CTO – Machine Learning Program Office

The Machine Learning Program Office within the Office of the CTO helps drive Machine Learning across Company through collaboration, and by pursuing our own ML projects. At Company we apply machine learning techniques to improve our products and to improve how we execute as a company.
We are seeking a talented student with significant applied ML experience to join our team to explore new uses of ML on internal Company data. We are specifically looking for someone with broad and deep experience with NLP or text-based ML techniques.

As a CTO Office intern, you will work as part of a small team and with others around the company to apply NLP techniques to an important problem related to R&D efficiency in the area of document similarity.
Insights into your role
You will build data processing pipeline for common data types (numeric/categorical/time series).
You will apply advanced ML techniques on Company internal data.
Research on the state-of-art algorithms and conduct performance improvement iteration.
Collaborate with team members and other R&D staff to incorporate feedback.
Design, build, document, and deploy an ML workflow that solves the problem in a repeatable way.
Pursuing masters or PhD in which Machine Learning and NLP are a key enablers of your work.
Demonstrated ML experience in NLP beyond just coursework (e.g. ML paper submitted or published at top conferences or applied ML experience from productized projects).
Solid coding skills in Python or R and significant experience with ML libraries and frameworks.
Self-motivated with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Comfortable working in a Linux or Mac OS environment at the command-line level.
Previous internship experience is a plus
