This intern will work as a member of the Office of the CTO’s High Performance Computing team to help understand and mitigate jitter introduced by the hypervisor at a cluster scale.
Insights into your role
You will study the sources of jitter on virtualized hardware and quantitatively evaluate their performance impact.
Minimize jitter via performance tuning with the goal of improving performance at the application level.
You will be responsible for documenting all the findings with supporting data.
Pursuing master or higher degree in computer science or related discipline
Solid and proven coding skills in Python or Java.
School projects or research experience in HPC (knowledge of MPI is a plus).
Expertise in performance benchmarking and tuning.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to learn new technologies, including commercial and open-source.
Familarity with OS kernel and CPU scheduling is a plus
Familarity with HPC technologies, including interconnect, storage and accelerators, is a plus.
