The Role
The Intelligence Strategy Manager role reports directly to the Director of Intelligence and is responsible for crafting and delivering strategic and tactical intelligence reports and consultancy to a portfolio of global clients that includes C-Suite executives, corporate communications teams, global communication consultancies and international media organisations. The Company Intelligence team combines the skills of researchers, journalists, data analysts and communications professionals, and works with a diverse portfolio of global clients. The team researches social trends and data to provide intelligence around events, launches and key areas of interest to companies.
The Intelligence Strategy Manager in New York will lead a nimble team of analysts and strategists as part of a wider global collaborative effort to develop world-class, innovative intelligence reporting solutions for C-Suite communications and other corporate executives. The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of experience in a corporate communications agency environment, including some experience at leading teams, and is passionate about the potential of data-driven social intelligence to lead the way in the development of strategic communication plans. This role demands a flexible attitude and attention to detail. You have the ability to multitask on projects at varying levels of complexity, collaborate across teams and coordinate efforts across creative and sales to ensure the team accomplishes its goals on deadline. You are completely comfortable with new technology; working with product teams to develop internal and external tools. You are also comfortable working as part of a global team, and navigating a changing media landscape.
Responsibilities:
• Takes responsibility to work with the existing New York Corporate Intelligence team to deliver against client execution, meeting and exceeding Key Performance Indicators.
• Actively participates in and leads the building of reporting solutions based on market direction and client needs.
• Takes responsibility for the delivery of allocated RFPs (request for proposal) from a strategic intelligence and consultancy standpoint.
• Develops and implements best practice processes within the New York team - including rigorous maintenance of Company’s high standards in terms of copy, presentation, reporting and client relations.
• Writes and edits concise and accurate copy to publish internally and on public platforms.
• Mentors and manages the development of New York Intelligence Team members, identifying and acting on areas for upskilling
• Provides the Director of Intelligence with weekly team, client and new business opportunity updates.
• Works with the Director of Intelligence to identify and meet metrics measuring the New York team’s success
• Actively drive the sharing of best practice within the New York and wider team.
• Supports the development of team members on specific daily projects as well as coaching them on short and long-term initiatives and goals
Skills & Experience required:
• 4+ years experience within a corporate communications consultancy environment
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and unite teams.
• Expert in social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Tumblr, Pinterest, Vine, YouTube, Instagram, SnapChat and other emerging platforms.
• Excellent communication, presentation and client management skills.
• Highest standards of copy editing and writing skills.
• Proven experience as a leader in strategic client communications
• Innovative, proactive and hands-on approach to providing clients with creative solutions to address their challenges.
• Aptitude for building and leveraging business resources and processes to ensure the team works effectively
• Can work strategically to identify core insights and intelligence to drive communications outcomes
• Proficiency in writing skills to craft internal and client correspondence, communications plans, new business proposals, etc.
• BA/MA qualified in a related discipline
