What an Infrastructure Architect does at EA:
An EA Infrastructure Architect provides the senior technical leadership, architectural vision - conceptualizing functional requirements, architectural approaches, integration methodology and application and infrastructure design guidance to deliver high-quality and timely solutions and services that continuously meet EA's Online business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provides business architecture solutioning representation in support of IT architecture activities, particularly within the online gaming area.
• Lead and define application analysis for infrastructure design, capacity planning, monitoring and operational requirements.
• Provide project leadership and ownership over all aspects of service delivery. Support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Closely partner with development partners to assess feasibility, complexity and scope of new capabilities and solutions.
• Collaborates with the architecture and infrastructure delivery teams to ensure consistent solution design and integration.
• Define technology roadmaps and infrastructure direction.
• Ensure that all capabilities delivered align with original business objectives, service levels, IT strategies and design intent.
• Prepares technical quality of infrastructure delivery enter/exit gates for design, integration testing, deployment and operations.
• Drive continuous improvement including design, service strategy, and standardization of process and methodologies.
• Possess a sound understanding of EA functional and business objectives that drive and shape technology requirements and design deliverables.
• Collaborate with other engineers and architects, within online and other parts of EA, to drive guidelines and documentation.
• Demonstrate strong partnership with other service delivery teams in the successful execution of standard processes and adoption of service standards.
• Provides advanced technical expertise, oversight and accountability for resolution of outages, service level issues and other events in partnership with support teams.
• Define proactive activities and tasks required for optimization of stability, performance and architecture.
• Closely partner with information security in insuring all applicable security and compliance standards and requirements are incorporated into service design.
The next great EA Infrastructure Architect also needs:
• BS Degree in MIS/Computer science or equivalent experience with 8+ years in a highly complex, dynamic IT environment with leadership responsibilities.
• Ability to multi-task, managing multiple tasks at one time; quickly and accurately shifting attention among multiple tasks under distracting conditions without loss of accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into IT solutions.
• Ability to articulate end-to end technical requirements across delivery functions.
• Extensive experience of designing, developing, testing complex infrastructure solutions to support distributed, scalable and highly available applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution and customer service skills.
• Professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff.
• Good capabilities around capacity planning and analysis.
• Understands systems dependencies and interrelation to the business.
• Able to analyze complex cross functional and cross platform issues.
• Able to define process improvements.
