We are currently looking for an intern to work 6 months within our Advanced Manufacturing Automation Research Group in Berkeley, California.
During this internship, the person will experience the excitement and challenges of industrial research and be part of a world class team. This person will:
Conduct research and development in the area of robotics and AI
Work on fast-paced co-creation projects with quickly changing requirements in the area of flexible grasping, robotic assembly and other transformative robotic applications
Develop prototypes and proof of concepts as appropriate
Quickly test and modify a variety of open source algorithms
Create technical reports
Qualified candidates will have:
PhD or MsC students in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
Proficient in Python and C++ (C# is a plus)
Experience with Robot Operating System (ROS)
Strong knowledge of control theory, kinematics, and path planning
Knowledge of perception in robotics (pose estimation, RGB-D processing)
Having implemented and debugged algorithms on real robot hardware
Excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude
Capability for quick prototyping
Proven knowledge of AI/ML toolsets (e.g. PyTorch, Tensorflow etc.)
