A Global Equities Academy role forthe IFG Sales team based in our New York office offers exposure to many business lines including but not limited to GE structuring, GE trading (cash and derivatives), back office and KYC teams. A part of the hands-on training experience, Academy Analysts will increase exposure to senior Company Capital Markets staff through the GE Speaker Series. An insight into the working life of a first year analyst is an invaluable experience if you want to pursue this career. This Internship is initially 16 months and could lead to a permanent role.
What will you do?
Support the daily sales activities and clients of the US Equity Derivatives Sales team
May include supporting Global Equities team in multiple verticals including Notes, listed options, OTC options, derivatives strategy and light vanilla derivatives
Complete necessary US regulatory exams including series 7 & 63
Internal pricing of equity derivatives transactions using in-house pricing and desk tools, including liaising with the GE sales teams, GE structuring and GE trading teams
Communicate clearly and accurately on all enquiries
Primary asset classes of focus are Equity with some FX/Rates/Commodities and structured products
Coordinate with other members of the GE US sales and trading team by sharing ideas, successful trades and leverage client relationships across all GELP regions and across the Capital Markets floor;
Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business
Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
Escalate operational or pricing issues, risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly. Failure to do so may subject you to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
What do you need to succeed?
Strong Academic background Bachelor’s degree (minimum), in a mathematical / economics or engineering discipline
Nice to Have
Good presentation and communication skills
Strong excel, PowerPoint and programming skills
