The FCC Business is a provider of execution and clearing services on Listed Derivatives, OTC Clearing and FX Prime Brokerage. The role advertised relates to the Listed Derivatives segment of the business where FCC holds global memberships on 70+ venues and CCPs and provides Electronic and Algorithmic Trading Access on 30+ exchanges. Our clients span across Asset Managers, Hedge Funds, Banks and Corporates as well as the Citi franchise businesses. The FCC business is cross-asset and our clients are active on Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities and FX Futures & Options products as well as Interest Rates Swaps, Credit Default Swaps and FX Prime products.
Reporting to the Global Head of Electronic Execution & Algorithmic Trading Product Head for FCC as well as the Head of North America FCC Business and the Global Head of EAS, the individual will be responsible for driving the definition and implementation of the bank’s listed derivatives Electronic Execution & Algorithmic Trading strategy across Product Development, Client Management and Analytics strategy. The candidate will be required to work closely with the global business and technology heads as well as peers around the firm to deliver a robust, scalable and supportable platform to meet both internal and external client’s requirements. The scope of the mandate is broad in reach and covers all aspects of the electronic execution, algorithmic and analytics stack across all listed derivative asset classes.
The position for the role advertised is be based in New York and the candidate will be expected to perform the responsibilities below and possess the following skillsets.
Definition and programme management of the regional listed derivatives product strategy, including the following streams:
◦ Client facing publications (regular or adhoc / bespoke data research)
◦ Production of client marketing materials
In-depth understanding of algorithms, micro-order placement, market microstructure, TCA, benchmarks
In-depth understanding of statistics and data science concepts (processing large data sets, outlier handling, regressions, categorization and classification, basic machine learning concepts)
Hands on expertise working with Excel, KDB and Python
High degree of commercial awareness and knowledge of the competitive landscape
Ability to partner with Equities, FX or Fixed Income peers to deliver cross-asset solutions
Analytical and data driven
Confident, driven self-starter
Attention to detail with strong focus on control and risk management
Pro-active response to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and applying persistence and perseverance until resolution
Ability to architect and implement solutions that have strong business cases and are cost effective, scalable and efficient
Analytical – full proficiency in excel and basic programming would be a real advantage
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of commercial/vendor/exchange contracts/fees
Ability to interact with both business and technology functions
Effective management skills of teams and stakeholders (management, peers, Sales organization, technology and other partner functions)
Excellent exchange listed derivatives, Electronic industry knowledge essential
Excellent knowledge of Algorithmic Trading is essential – the candidate will be asked to lead discussions with clients and Heads of Trading and should be able to answer the low level demands from this community
Excellent knowledge of Analytics is essential
Excellent knowledge and vision on the Electronic Client coverage model is also essential
Strong front-to-back understanding of exchange listed derivative flows
Broad and reputable network of key industry contacts across the spectrum of vendors, exchanges, market data vendors as well as buy-side and sell-side firms
Solid understanding of regulatory agenda and associated electronic execution impacts/opportunities
Risk management mindset and ability to drive process compliance (Op Risk Management, Model Risk, Conduct Risk….)
Knowledge of Cash Equities, FX and Rates products is a clear advantage
Strong interpersonal skills with result oriented focus
Ability to manage senior internal relationships and communicate in a concise manner
Excellent client facing manner
Proven coaching ability to develop new talent
Other desirable skills
Technology experience/background and ability to lead design discussions would be a plus
Representation and involvement with industry bodies and working groups is desirable but non-essential
