Role: Global Spread Products is seeking a Business Analytics Analyst. Reporting through the COO line, this person will work closely with the front office and technology on multiple fronts to help execute strategic goals. This team sits at the intersection of sales, trading, structuring, capital markets origination and technology and is responsible for implementing process improvements and realizing senior management's vision. This role is focused on short term tactical projects, which often bridge the gap between longer term tech projects.
Background:Global Spread Products is the primary source of capital for corporations, governments, and non-profits, providing liquidity and innovative solutions globally across the credit, municipal, and securitized markets.
Design and develop dashboards, metrics and other reporting to enhance the divisions analytic insights
Create tactical solutions to increase business efficiency
Create prototypes for analytical tools that will later be productionized by GSP technology
Continuously learn from and partner with business management and technology partners to identify opportunities to incrementally deliver business value through tactical tools
Partner with internal organizations such as finance, risk, middle office and compliance to improve cross functional workflows, feeds and reporting
Respond to ad-hoc data requests and reporting
Maintain and prioritize detailed project plans
Provide user training, solicit feedback and drive systems adoption for developed tools
Required Qualifications and Skills
Candidate is required to have a BA/BS, preferably in Computer Science
Proficient knowledge of Python
Proficient knowledge of data modeling and relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Kdb+
Proficient knowledge in developing BI reporting tools and dashboards in Qlikview or Tableau
Basic knowledge of financial markets
Must be passionate about technology and innovation within the financial services industry
Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multi-task under tight deadlines
Must be a team player; must be able to contribute and foster ideas within the team
Ability to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines with changing priorities
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Front office experience or interest in Credit Trading (flow or structured), Securitized Markets, or other Fixed Income products
Experience with R, Perl, Hadoop, or Unix/Linux
Knowledge of systems engineering or database administration
