Global Risk Review (GRR)
provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance to the Board of Directors and Committees of Company and Citibank, NA, to the Company Chief Risk Officer, the Company Chief Credit Officer, senior management and regulators as to the effectiveness of credit, capital and collateral risk management and the ability of the Business and Independent Risk Management to identify, monitor, mitigate and control current and emerging risks.
GRR is comprised of the following independent review functions:
Fundamental Credit Risk (FCR)
Confirmation of Basel Review and Analysis (COBRA)
Collateral Risk Review (CRR)
The Global Risk Review analyst reports to the Analyst Team Lead and provides analytical support for the regional or global GRR teams including responsibility for portfolio performance analysis and reporting for regional or global Review Entities and support for Lead Reviewers in their management of Business Monitoring and Reviews through various activities that include validation of inputs used to determine risk ratings and system support. The analyst will be expected to quickly transition into participation in Business Monitoring and Review activities, in addition to supporting GRR groups on various projects and presentations.
Identify and analyze situations that create risk for Citi, utilizing various resources such as credit reports, score cards, risk systems, and knowledge of the elements of Risk
Use tools and techniques to effectively identify and assess trends and risks
Communicate findings of analysis to Lead Reviewers
Mentor junior analysts and coordinate workflow
For an assigned portfolio of entities of varying complexity, collaborate with Lead Reviewers and regional teams for Business Monitoring and Review activities (Planning, Fieldwork, and Post Fieldwork) including:
◦ SharePoint site maintenance
◦ Review Plan, Fundamental Credit Review Plan, Sample Rationale Document preparation and maintenance
◦ Pre-Review activities, presentation decks, checklists, file comment compilation and System assistance
◦ Portfolio performance analysis and reporting
◦ Responsibility for Risk Rating input verification process and compliance to applicable Credit Policies in conjunction with the Lead Reviewer
◦ Analyze and interpret data to make conclusions or recommendations
◦ Other items as required to execute efficient, consistent and value added review activities
Gather deliverables and/or prepare presentations to meet internal and Regulatory needs
Support the Chief Operating Officer’s team in special projects
Developmental opportunities include experience in a high visibility, dynamic function; significant exposure to the a global mix of credit portfolios and Businesses; cross-training opportunities across the various GRR functions and greater Citi Risk potential contribution to work products presented to Senior Management, the Risk Management Executive Committee, regulators and Citi’s Board of Directors.
Knowledge / Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related field
Work experience in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or similar with Credit, Basel Capital, Accounting or financial statement analysis experience
Formal credit training, Basel or CCAR experience or understanding of financial accounting standards (international and/or domestic) is beneficial
Knowledge of Citi’s organization and systems preferred
Level will be determined based on experience
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, Access, Word, Visio, etc.); Visual Basic experience is a plus
Energetic, proactive and responsive team player with the interest to learn, take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Detail oriented with ability to work independently and prioritize workload
Strong written and verbal communication skills - ability to express and communicate concisely and clearly with various levels of management
Strong interpersonal skills
Language skills a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Korean)
