Enterprise Role Description
Engages with business partners to analyze, implement, and update processes by utilizing sound process improvement models and techniques. Manages design or redesign of processes or projects using six sigma methodologies. Integrates best practices with process design to ensure continuous process improvement. Builds action plans and drives execution. Applies business redesign concepts, practices and DFSS tools. May manage teams to achieve process or project objectives. Processes are within a product or service delivery within a single business unit or department and are typically directed toward improving a single business, product, or function. May be Green Belt or Black Belt certified.
Line of Business Role Description
The GBAM Ops Process Engineer will be part of the GBAM Ops Operational Excellence team, partnering with business function leaders and process owners to provide an end-to-end view of their processes and assist with re-engineering and optimization while identifying opportunities for process efficiencies while promoting a continuous improvement mind-set across the organization.
The role engages with business partners to analyze, implement, and update processes by utilizing sound process improvement models and techniques. Manages design or redesign of processes or projects using six sigma methodologies. Integrates best practices with process design to ensure continuous process improvement. Builds action plans and drives execution. Applies business redesign concepts, practices and tools.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for process transformation and re-engineering and will develop close working relationships with operations teams and process owners, building trust and confidence at all levels.
Key activities and responsibilities for the role include:
Oversight of modelling standards and adherence to Operational Excellence guidelines.
Process analysis, process modelling and governance
Documenting and analyzing current/target state business processes
Managing of processes as reusable assets that can be leveraged in future projects/initiatives
Identification of cross-verticals and horizontal opportunities and utilize design thinking practices to drive the further improvement of processes in common to all business functions.
Tracking of opportunities
Provides expertise for the identification of opportunities from a process efficiency perspective and automation.
Participate and drive process workshops and deep dive sessions to drive Op Ex culture and a mindset of continuous improvement.
Prepare presentations and process overview utilizing models and complementary data to assist leaders and owners in process re-engineering activities.
Support process automation activities and understand automation capabilities
Provide end-to-end view of processes within business functions
Strategic direction of Op Ex ARIS Library for GBAM Operations for OpEx
Ownership and maintenance of the ARIS GBAM Operations Library for OpEx
Process Engineering support to OpEx Leads for each GBAM Operations business function through OpEx
Ownership and execution of the annual attestation for GBAM Operations OpEx process models
Cross-vertical and horizontal support for process engineering activities and end-to-end views
3 years or more experience working with business operations, process improvement, project management, analytics, and/or business transformation
Expertise in process engineering and optimization.
Knowledge of GBAM Operations business lines
Proven leadership skills with a track record of delivering results
Ability to navigate end to end processes and synthesize data that will create transparency on the cost and profitability of products and services
Ability to lead cross-functional workgroups and champion initiatives
Experience in analyzing data, operational models and process maps
Strong presentation development skills including the ability to distil many data points and processes into concise summaries with detailed illustrations and examples
Able to work across a wide variety of businesses and interacting with subject matter experts and executives
Excellent verbal and communications skills. Provide clear, concise direction to the broader team while delivering comprehensive status to senior executives or project champions
Critical thinking skills – ability to assess quantitative and qualitative data to identify key themes that require deeper analysis and assessment
Creativity – able to look at a problem from a new perspective and to develop new ideas and solutions
Ability to understand new technologies, intellectually curious.
Self-starter who can take ambiguous information and drive to logical outcomes while constantly challenging the status quo
Advanced Visio, Excel and Power Point skills
Preferred ARIS modelling experience
