The selected candidate will be responsible for developing/reviewing drawings that support design requirements for various customers.
Candidate must have the following experience:
Engineering experience for marine applications: electrical and/or electronics
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with 3D modeling (AutoCAD, Siemens NX, Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA, Ship Constructor, ETC.).
Be proficient with the full Microsoft Office suite
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Confidential Security Clearance
The selected candidate will work in one of the following disciplines; Electrical and/or electronics. This position will be responsible for drawing development for Naval Vessels and will require the ability to work in a shipboard environment, lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, not limited to shipboard, shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Additionally, ability to perform other duties as required may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels, riding ships at sea for extended periods, may require the ability to work while wearing a respirator, and travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.
May work in an office, industrial or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances during site surveys. Lifting and moving of materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift. Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a lap top computer.
