Front End Supervisors are primarily responsible for expediting Customers and ensuring their demands are met by appropriately supervising Cashiers (including cashiers in all remote cashier locations) and Lot Associates. Providing outstanding service to both external and internal Customers by ensuring efficient Front End and Remote Cashier operations is the key responsibility of this position. Front End Supervisors must have thorough knowledge of all policies, procedures and duties related to Customer transactions, cash handling, the service desk and lot. Other key responsibilities include supervising and training other Front End Associates and Lot Associates, and maintaining adequate coverage through scheduling. Front End Supervisors ensure excellent customer service for Front End operations at all times.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
MANAGING FRONT END OPERATIONS
Expediting Customers by appropriately supervising Cashiers and Lot Associates
Overseeing operations of Cashier, Service Desk, Lot and all Remote Cashier locations
Partnering with bookkeeping to ensure business reconciliation
Promoting services offered at the service desk
Maintaining training support and daily execution of Back-Up Cashier program
Using Standard Operating Procedures to effectively serve Customers
Responsible for overseeing work activity within his/her department(s)
Communicates store and Company objectives to associates
Supervising Associates within department of responsibility
Scheduling Associates work time and training within department(s) of responsibility (to be approved by Store Manager)
NATURE AND SCOPE
Due to forklifts and other heavy equipment traveling through the store, temporary cracks may appear in the
floor, causing an uneven walking surface
The warehouse environment can be dusty and noisy
Doors near the department are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes
Floors around work area may become slippery during wet weather conditions
May have to handle merchandise and work with tools with sharp edges
Passing forklifts emit gas fumes
Tools, supplies and related merchandise may contain hazardous materials
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, fumes or odors.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:0 years
Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
Physical Job Requirements
Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling and moving items
-Requires the ability to move around the store and maneuver merchandise when necessary
Responding to public address system announcements
-Requires listening for customer service call, personal pages and general information announcements
Walking and Carrying Merchandise
-Requires moving around the store to assist Customers or move merchandise
Identify and read tickets, UPC labels and reports
-Requires recognizing, identifying and using merchandise and necessary reports
Requires being able to climb a ladder, up to the height of 12 - 16 feet, in order to obtain or stock merchandise
