Responsibilities
Job description:
Qualified candidate will work in the Lifestyle Networks Post Production & Operations department onlining promos edited by writer/producers. Must have extensive online editing experience with Avid systems. Must also be very skilled in color correction, graphics integration, effects editing, titling and conforming of network promotion spots for broadcast air. Thorough knowledge of digital audio and video signal parameters and operation of online recording equipment required. Attention to detail is mandatory. Overtime may be required with little notice. Must be willing to switch gears and help out in other areas as required to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years experience editing, preferably in the promo department of a Broadcast Network/Station or Cable Network
• Must be creatively proficient on Avid Symphony Media Composer editing system.
• Familiarity with Adobe Premiere a plus
• Knowledge of 601 CCIR (NTSC) broadcast standards and scopes
• Working knowledge of Avid ISIS, Interplay and general media management is necessary
• Proficient with Advanced Primary and Secondary Color Correction & Animatte Tools
• Knowledge of Adobe After Effects. DaVinci Resolve, Boris, Sapphire and Red Giant a plus
• Must have experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe Photoshop
• Understanding of encoding/transcoding, importing and exporting digital files
• Extensive knowledge of codecs, resolutions, frame rates, and file formats
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and leadership qualities with the ability to handle multiple tasks a must
• Ability to work in fast paced, high pressure environment while maintaining professional respect and courtesy with team members
• Strong communication skills, great attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines required
• Ability to work in supervised or unsupervised environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills required
• Must be creative and self-motivated
• Project management skills are also necessary
• Must be able to learn and grow with new technology
• High degree of integrity and professionalism required
• Keen sense of urgency and ability to prioritize work effectively
Qualifications/Requirements
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Create and edit material for cable entertainment networks, including short form on-air promotion, sales tapes, and presentations from rough-cut to export
• Collaborate with network production personnel to meet daily profile deadlines
• Edit promo material to producer's specifications, use industry standard practices and abide by network delivery technical specifications to create high quality content
• Mastering and submastering of all promos
• Assist with digital delivery and off-air uploads
• Manage dub and ingest requests
• Build composite reels and string outs
• Help troubleshoot technical issues
• Ensure all deliverables meet broadcast technical specifications
• Follow and enhance technical and departmental procedures
• Lend creative and technical input when necessary to enhance production
• Manage multiple projects while maintaining efficiency and creativity on high profile projects
• Manage media and archives on storage and edit systems
• Complete other post production-related tasks as assigned
