Job Duties: Develop, interpret and implement financial concepts for financial planning and control. Perform technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance. Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, trended future requirements and operating forecasts. Perform economic research and studies in the areas of rates of return, depreciations, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements. Fully own the end-to-end commissions process for their assigned sales teams. Individual assigned sales teams may be global teams, which requires different Geo knowledge of payroll laws/deadlines, and other issues specific to a Geo. Responsible for calculating commissions and supporting the reps in the Industry sales organization. Analyze HR and sales data needed to accurately produce commission payments and sales reports while providing high quality, timely support to sales reps and managers. Serve as the primary point of contact for questions relating to all commissions issues, including compensation plans, calculations, and attainments. Collaborate with Finance Business Partners in communicating annual Territory and Target information, data validation and analysis. Participate in on-going process and procedural improvements that contribute to the efficient management of the sales organization and its variable pay components and philosophy. Calculate and pay commissions accurately and on time for assigned sales teams with a complex mix of requirements. Provide a thorough monthly analysis of attainment, and investigate and explain variances for high/low result fluctuations. Maintain documents in compliance with SOx, and ensures auditability. Maintain commission tools with reference data, employee information, variant information, and comp plan information needed to accurately produce commission payments and reports, which include maintaining an accurate sales organizational hierarchy, updating new hires / transfers / terminations and any salary/comp plan changes. Part of on-going process improvement and change within the team and upstream with other departments that improve the efficiency and accuracy of sales reporting and variable pay calculations. Support roll out of changes to the commissions system, participate in User acceptance testing, meet with programmers to discuss and prioritize necessary changes to system or reports. Communicate complex calculations and analysis in a manner that is easily understandable to the sales reps. Assist with new fiscal year comp plans (give input and analysis), as well as special activities related to forecast and closing of the year. Interpret the Compensation plan into crediting rules, and creating Sales Rep Master Territory Target Sheets (TTS) to be used throughout the commissions team.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field, plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a finance/sales operations-related occupation.
Special Requirements: Experience must include:
1) Advanced Microsoft Excel, including developing validation system with Excel file and creating reports from multiple data sources;
2) Analyzing billings/bookings data using Business Objects;
3) Creating reports and analyzing commissionable billings using Qlikview;
4) Data analysis using Cognos/Varicent (incentive actual, data for sales territories);
5) Data analysis using Structured Query Language (SQL) (incentive actual);
6) Advanced Microsoft Powerpoint, including creating/sharing the crediting rule and presenting the information; and
7) Bookkeeping and accounting for international communication.
