Primary Purpose of Position
The Student Financial Aid Advisor (Scholarships & NCAA Compliance Coordinator) position specializes in office administration work of considerable difficulty and extensive responsibility involving the coordination of all institutional and private scholarship programs with an annual volume of approximately $4.5 million. In addition, this position will serve as financial aid advisor for one-fifth of student applicants and their families which encompass all types of aid programs available, Company eligibility, and academic progress requirements. Additional responsibilities include financial aid presentations to various student and parent groups regarding the financial aid application process and program overviews at on-campus and off-campus workshops. This position will have the responsibility of insuring and coordinating compliance of NCAA regulations in regards to student aid with collaboration with Company Athletic personnel.
Counsel prospective and returning students and parents in the areas of federal, state and institutional aid programs and the regulations governing them. This position serves as an advisor for approximately 25% of the aid applicants. Through various means which includes in-person, phone and email, the position will communicate with clients regarding their eligibility and options for financing their education.
Coordinate all institutional and private scholarships programs. Within the Banner database the position will process these programs as well as be responsible for the reconciliation of the funds with the appropriate internal departments as needed.
This position coordinates weekly, monthly and yearly reports of all institutional scholarships for administration that aid in the recruitment and retention of Company students.
This position is responsible for processing all external scholarship processes including the certification of applications, receipt of disbursements on behalf of Company student recipients, and coordinating such proceeds with other aid programs to insure adherence to all application federal and state regulations.
This position is responsible for interpreting applicable regulations (federal, state, NCAA, etc) regarding eligibility and performing electronic processing in student information system to insure program integrity which includes new applicant eligibility evaluation, semester reassessment of existing recipients, and continuous internal auditing practices.
Represents the Company Financial Aid Office at various student/parents speaking events such as freshmen seminar classes, on-campus visitation programs, and off-campus workshops.
