Company Canada’s SAP Finance Centre of Excellence forms part of the overall finance team reporting to the controller and CFO. The mission of the SAP Finance Centre of Excellence team is to leverage Company’s investment in its core financial systems, improve business processes, increase operational efficiency and stimulate innovation. The team is currently deploying SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation on the Netweaver platform. The mandate includes the administration, support and ongoing development of the solution in collaboration with Company business units’ finance teams.
Job Description:
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Finance SAP Centre of Excellence, and will be a key person for the ongoing implementation of the new planning and forecasting solution as well as providing day-to-day support and administration (SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation). The position will work closely with the Information Technology (IT), and Corporate Planning teams as well as the financial user community.
Duties and responsibilities:
The main responsibilities include:
• Lead day-to-day operations and related processes with the other members of the team (including data load, validation and extraction to SAP Business Warehouse).
• Follow set procedures and adapt to any situational changes while meeting deadlines
• Contribute to the development standards and policies in the maintenance of the system.
• Contribute to implementation of new BPC models, including performing activities such as testing of the Planning and Consolidation application and related processes (including driver-based models and overall design).
• Proactively identify ways to leverage existing BPC models and extend use of the BPC tool.
• Personally complete or oversee the security and administration activities.
• Monitor and test system backup and recovery processes to ensure ongoing data integrity and recoverability.
• Provide day-to-day support, training and education to BPC users while keeping documentation up-to-date.
• Maintain on-going relationships with IT infrastructure support team.
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
• University degree in Management Information Systems, or IT related degree with a business option.
• Analytical, meticulous and conscientious.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Fully committed to team success.
• Can work effectively and take a proactive role with minimal supervision.
• Experience with systems development and projects.
• Experience with providing support to both developers and end-users.
• Experience with planning, budgeting and reporting activities.
• Experience with the use of driver-based modeling to support planning activities.
Preferred Qualifications/Competencies:
• Bilingual
• Experience with SAP’s BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation Netweaver toolset
• Knowledge of the SAP ECC and BW environments and understanding of their relationship with BPC.
• Knowledge of financial consolidation accounting and/or consolidation systems.
• Knowledge of Visual Basic.
• Very good skills with Microsoft Excel.
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
